Nunc Dimittis

Nunc Dimittis – “Lord, now lettest Thou Thy Servant depart in Peace”.

For my father-in-law, who we bury on Tuesday morning. We will have a sung version at his Requiem Mass, to acknowledge the passing of an influential yet humble and generous man, and to commend him to The Lord.

So sorry to hear of this loss to your family. My prayers, sympathies and thoughts are with you as well. The text you have chosen is the one that we had at my Dad’s funeral two years ago. Such comforting words!

When I was a choir girl, I loved the melancholy glory of the Requiem Mass.

    So sorry for your loss.

Requescat In Pace: may he rest in peace.
